On May 9, 2012, Consumer Law Group commenced a class action against Diamond Pet Food and Costco claiming that certain products were contaminated with Salmonella which rendered these pet food products unsafe for consumption and necessitated a medical screening test by a veterinarian.
On July 21, 2015, the parties reached a proposed national settlement. A copy of the settlement agreement is available here:

On August 25, 2015, the Superior Court of Quebec scheduled a motion for authorization of the action as a class action and approval of the settlement agreement for January 28, 2015 at 9:15 A.M. at the Montreal Court House located at 1, Notre-Dame St. East, Montreal, Quebec, in Courtroom 2.08.

CONSUMER LAW GROUP has launched a Canada-wide class action lawsuit against Diamond Pet Foods on behalf of individuals who have purchased their pet food products that were recalled on April 6, April 26, April 30, and May 4/5 of 2012.
The class action involves a voluntary recall of certain Diamond Pet Food products due to a Salmonella contamination at its manufacturing plant in South Carolina which rendered these pet food products unsafe for consumption and necessitated a medical screening test by a veterinarian.

The class action lawsuit identifies the group of affected persons as:
All residents in Canada who purchased and/or whose pets consumed Pet Food Products that were manufactured, distributed, sold, and/or placed onto the market by the Respondents and which were subsequently recalled on April 6, April 26, April 30, and May 4/5 of 2012 [as well as any future recall relating to the issue at present], or any other group to be determined by the Court;
