**Claims Process for Oxycontin and OxyNEO Class Action Settlement**
A Canada-wide $20 million class action settlement has been reached with Perdue Pharma, which has been approved by the Courts in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan.
The class action alleged that the manufacturers of OxyContin® and OxyNEO® misled the public about the potentially addictive nature of their products.

In order to qualify for compensation, you must:
1. Reside in Canada
2. Were prescribed and ingested OxyContin® and/or OxyNEO® tablets between January 1, 1996, and February 28, 2017
3. Became addicted and suffered one or more related injuries:
a) Fatal overdose or suicide
b) Non-fatal overdose or attempted suicide
c) Participation in a treatment program
d) Loss of employment for a period of 6 consecutive months or longer
e) Loss of professional license
f) Loss of custody of children
g) Separation or divorce from spouse or common law partner
h) Criminal charge
i) Bankruptcy
j) Eviction or loss of possession of principal residence
k) Homeless for greater than one week
l) Interruption in post-secondary education
m) Other hardship
You may also qualify for compensation if you are the spouse, common law partner, child, grandchild, parent, brother, and sister of an approved claimant.
The amount that will be paid to eligible claimants will be unknown until after the end of the claims period. The claims deadline is June 27, 2024, so you will need to act fast.
