CrowdStrike IT Outage Canadian Class Action
CONSUMER LAW GROUP is investigating a class action lawsuit against cybersecurity software provider CrowdStrike relating to a widespread computer outage caused by a defective CrowdStrike software update disseminated to CrowdStrike consumers on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
The outage caused by CrowdStrike’s defective software affected millions of computers operating with Microsoft Windows, resulting in the computers repeatedly rebooting and displaying what is colloquially referred to as the “blue screen of death.” Entire data and IT systems have been shutdown or otherwise rendered non-operational. The CrowdStrike outage has been referred to as the most significant IT outage in global history.
As of July 20, 2024, the computer systems of numerous individuals, companies, and government entities using CrowdStrike cybersecurity software are still not operating. Industries including banking, airlines, healthcare, and emergency services have been particularly devastatingly affected.
Businesses large and small that are not CrowdStrike customers but rely on CrowdStrike customers who provide payment and data processing services and systems have also been negatively impacted and continue to lose revenue from being forced to decline potential transactions. This is a direct result of the outage caused by CrowdStrike’s defective software update.
Consumer Law Group believes action must be taken for all businesses and other entities who have and continue to lose revenue due to being unable to process transactions or otherwise conduct business owing to their reliance on CrowdStrike customers whose systems and services have been shut down.
If you or someone you know are or is affiliated with a business or entity that has lost and/or continues to lose revenue as a result of being able to conduct business because of the CrowdStrike computer outage, or to be kept advised of the status of the CrowdStrike Outage Class Action litigation or any resulting compensation resulting from the Class Action Lawsuit in Canada or Quebec, please provide your contact information to our law firm using the below form.
